My business is in sleep mode so this and a couple of following blog updates will be about recycling old themes. Today I celebrate my first longer video project, <a href=\"https:\/\/waltin.se\/josefinwaltinspinner\/slow-fashion-from-sheep-to-sweater\/\">Slow fashion \u2013 from sheep to sweater<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"525\" height=\"296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o8lP2nckxq0?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;start=436&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The video is available in Swedish too, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IApMXb3iGJI&amp;t=2s\">Slow fashion \u2013 fr\u00e5n f\u00e5r till tr\u00f6ja<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slow fashion \u2013 from sheep to sweater<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The video started with an urge to tell the story of the craft \u2013 all the hours, skills and knowledge put into one single garment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A map of what I have learned<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I knew a lot less about videography back then. And spinning, for that matter. I could point out a thousand mistakes and aspects to improve on. But I won&#8217;t. As I often say to my students \u2013 the video is a map of what I have learned. All the mistakes are there to remind me of where I can (and have) improve when it comes both the video making and spinning processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So regardless of mistakes or lower quality than the videos I produce today I am still very proud of this production. It has the love for the craft that I want to feature in all my videos and it tells the story I want to tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A magical sweater<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The sweater itself is magic, at least if you belong to the magical world of spinning. At work nobody gives it much thought \u2013 it is just a knitted sweater. Most of them probably haven&#8217;t even thought about the spinning wheels on the yoke. The thought of it being made of handspun yarn probably haven&#8217;t even crossed their minds. But at fiber festivals, spinning classes and other textile events people stop, feel the structure of the sweater and ask about designer, sheep breed and spinning technique. In that magical world the sweater brings people together. It inspires people to process their wool, spin and treasure their craft. I&#8217;m happy to be part of  spreading the love that spinning brings me and other spinners.
